Nostalgic Bar Alley in Asakusa



View of An alley named "Hatsune-koji".
This alley is located near Sensoji temple.
It was very hot when I visited there, that wisteria trellis shaded the alley nicely.

Small Stone Bridge at Sensoji Temple, Asakusa





This bridge was built in 1618, and it is oledest remaining stone bridge in Tokyo.
You can see beautiful varicolored carp in the pond under the bridge.

Five Storied Pagoda in Summer



Five storied pagoda at Sensoji temple, Asakusa.
There were summer clouds in the sky.
Girls wearing Yukata(casual cotton Kimono) were looking up at the tower.

Sensoji temple is one of the most popular sightseeing spot in Tokyo.
Although I visited there on a Monday, there were so many people in the temple.

A Figure of Nippon Daemon on the Street




A figure on Denboin-dori Street, Asakusa.
Nippon Daemon is an honorable thief in the Kabuki play called "Shiranami Gonin Otoko" (The Five Thieves).
In the play, he is the leader of a band of thieves.
The play was premiered in 1862 at Ichimuraza which was a major Kabuki theater.
Denboin-dori Street is a shopping and dinning street full of atmosphere of Edo period.
